Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is Learn Together?
Ethical Education is taught in place of religious instruction in Educate Together primary schools. Educate Together primary schools teach the Learn Together curriculum, which is divided up as follows:
  • Moral and Spiritual Development
  • Equality and Justice
  • Belief Systems
  • Ethics and the Environment

Q. Why do you teach about religions?
A. We teach about belief systems which includes learning about different religious and spiritual beliefs and also that some people do not have religious beliefs. This can be a very effective subject through which children can see clear differences and similarities between people and realise that people can be friends and live side by side despite differences. Within this subject children are also encouraged to question and think critically about their own and others morals and principals. As the children progress through the years of the curriculum they should also learn how to debate and discuss issues arising from these lessons in a respectful, curious, non judgemental and safe environment.
